New building for the head office of E.ON AG
energised
The new head office of E.ON AG, Duesseldorf, was designed by the architects from 'O. M. Ungers' and constructed by the working group 'Zueblin/Wolfferts', between 1999 and 2001.
The ambitious planning by the architect Ungers, the special construction components and the extensive technical equipment of the building, in connection with the deadlines demanded from E.ON, constituted a special challenge. Furthermore, utilisation changes during the execution, and schedule delays on the side of the general contractor, challenged E.ON's planned relocation date. Therefore, DU concentrated on the synchronisation of the due dates and the building owner'spersonal contribution.
DU rendered expert opinion during the project, to limit possible claims by the general contractor. After the object had been handed over in accordance with the deadline, DU was also commissioned for general organisation of the acquisition and long-term management of deficects. The defects were collected and monitored through the use of a database, specially developed for this purpose.
