The planning and realisation of the old people´s housing estate, built on the premises of a former industrial wasteland, offers more features than a first look at the currently occupied old people´s home would lead you to expect.

A particular importance was attached to low construction costs. Therefore, the planning specifications included a high degree of pre-production for the construction components. As a result, specific building costs of less than 500 €/m² gross surface for cost type 300 to 400 were effected. This success was honoured by additional public aid.

Although favourable economic values for the user were achieved, the attractiveness of the object, characterised by its premises, layout and conceptual design did not suffer. On the contrary! Since the occupation of the building, there has been almost no vacancies, recording durable economic efficiency for the client.

DU realised the controlling and management for the project. Therefore, intense service and support for all parties involved was ensured from the construction phase.
