Berlin model

The Berlin police decided to realise the so-called 'Berlin model'. The planned organisational and operational changes of the service management procedure had massive consequences for the upcoming alteration and redevelopment of seven police stations in the districts Charlottenburg, Wilmersdorf and Spandau.

For the reorganisation of the organisational structures, the construction division involved had to concentrate on its core business. DU was commissioned to support the building owner through overall project management and coaching for project controlling services.

The building was constructed between 1906 and 1987, presenting an accordingly wide range of architectural styles and a varying backlog of redevelopment needs. The construction works are planned to be completed between Ocktober 2003 and May 2004, depending on the construction scheme.

The budgets and processes will be optimised with regard to cost-efficiency and durability, in consideration of the bad budgetary situation. A continual, current and complete flow of information helped to meet the time and cost targets and create the necessary transparency.
