Theaterplatz Krefeld

It is planned to transfer all of the plots in the area of ’Theaterplatz’ over to the future investor for economic utilisation. Utilisation-related grants of 12.5 m € for the construction of a municipal library and the shaping of Theaterplatz are provided.
DU’s first main task was to specify the requirements for the city of Krefeld for the tender documents.
All tender offers were compared under aspects of functionality, urban development and user requirements, and reviewed with the future users of Theaterplatz. After all submitted offers have been evaluated, DU will concentrate on financial optimisation.
In this context, possibilities for land transfer, such as land sale, heritable building right and grant of use were evaluated. Alternative financing possibilities, e. g, forfaiting, are being studied to achieve the best possible competition result for the city of Krefeld.
