Authority centre in Giessen, alteration of the tax office
concentration
The departments of Giessen tax office are spread over several locations in and around Giessen. To meet the requirements of a modern administration office and the citizens' demands, it was decided to centralise all departments and to concentrate them on the premises of the former hospital of the German army on Schubertstrasse street.
In the middle of 2000, preparation of the budget documents for alteration was started. It was submitted not later than December 2000. After one year of performance planning and a construction period of two years, the premises were handed over to the user, in early summer 2004.
Right from the beginning, the project made high demands on the cost controlling, since only 220 m3 gross volume (cost type 200-700, according to DIN 276) were available. From the current point of view, all determined time and cost targets had been kept in consideration of the pre-defined user requirements.
