Municipal savings bank, Johannisberg, Wuppertal
building savings contract
The central administration and central services of the savings bank 'Sparkasse Wuppertal' were accomodated in the multi-storey building, on Islandufer street, in Wuppertal. Due to continual growth, the existing surface space was no longer sufficient, so that an extension building was planned on Johannisberg street.
As the first step, the user demand program was created.
Within the scope of organisation consulting, DU analysed the interdependencies between the departments as well as the dimension of the required surface space. The demand analyses were developed in close co-operation with the saving bank's organisation departments, completed through direct interrogation of single departments. As a result, room and function programs as well as presentations of the communicational relationships between the single departments were created. With the alignment of the user demand program, conditions for further efficient planning were established. The realisation was carried out by the architects from 'RKW', Düsseldorf.
The completed building stands out, being successfully connected with the existing structure through a vitrineous pedestrian bridge over Bundesallee.
